Wissota Chophouse - Janesville | Premier Steakhouse & Tapas with Waterfront Dining

This is a high quality restaurant with tapas options. There is a happy hour which offers discounted drinks from 4-6pm. Our waiter, Ivan, was upbeat, knowledgeable about the menu, and very friendly. The food was great! The steak was cooked perfectly and the fish was full of flavor. The only thing that wasn’t great was the calamari. The flavor was there, but it wasn’t cooked great. Otherwise, I highly recommend this place and will be returning to try the other offerings.

Had dinner as part of a birthday party. Service, drinks and food were great. We had the dry aged steak and it was outstanding along with the mushroom risotto and a strawberry cheesecake tiramisu. Wide selection of spirits and wine and many options within the menu.

This was our first time at Wissota Chophouse and we were SO impressed. Our table was ready immediately and Scott was an amazing server. The Food was absolutely delicious and the whole experience just wowed us. We will definitely be back.

We decided to try a new place for my birthday this year, and Wissota was the best choice we could have made. We arrived before our reservation so we could sit at the bar and enjoy the waterfront view. The seasonal cocktails were absolutely amazing, and the bartender took extra care by explaining what went into them and how the flavor profiles worked together. We had appetizers, steak, oysters, and scallops for dinner and they were cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. Our incredible waitress, Michelle, was hands-on while also giving us space to take in the experience. She overheard that it was my birthday and treated us to a complimentary dessert, which was out-of-this-world delicious. We’ll be back for many more special occasions, as well as casual drinks on the patio. Highly recommend!

My family stayed at the Cobblestone Inn and Suites for Thanksgiving weekend and we really enjoyed our stay. On our last night here we decided to try the Wissota Chophouse and were absolutely blown away. The restaurant is very small and has only about 7 tables inside but it also has a fairly large bar. Our waiter was really great and gave us wonderful and attentive service throughout the experience. He was extremely understanding and accommodating with my daughter’s food allergies and he even brought the chef out to speak with us. The chef was really great to talk to and after giving our daughter’s allergies he assured us that he would take care of her with the items we ordered. The Bacon and alligator appetizers were awesome and we all got steaks for our main course. The steaks were right in line with all of the top level steak houses I have been to. The sides were massive and also delicious. The desserts were also massive and amazing. This is a cool place with outdoor seating next to the river when the weather is nice. Great service from the waiter and chef. Amazing steaks, I definitely recommend if you’re in Janesville!

A couple of friends and I went on a Saturday early evening about 5pm...Hoping we'd beat the busy "reserved" crowd because we kind of made these plans last minute well boy we're we in for a surprise when we found the only available seating immediately at that time would be at the bar. Most would probably be a little discouraged as we first thought as well but WOW! what a blessing it was! Hands down the best seats in the house, that's if you enjoy amazing service filled with laughter and genuine kindness and all around attention to detail! Our waitress/bartender was Alicia, a breath of fresh air you can really tell she loves what she does. Now on to the goods!! We were first recommended some of the handcrafted specialty cocktails they have seasonally, I had the pomegranate mojito, outstanding! and my friends had a white chocolate covered raspberry martini which I tried and was also delicious, a Santa Martini, not particularly my thing but she loved it, and lastly a Bloody Mary. Then Alicia suggested that we share the crab cakes (excellent recommendation!) they were so full of flavor. Then two of us enjoyed (understatement) the French onion soup, and other the field salad. warm bread was then brought with butter and some unique salts while we waited for for our main courses! we all shared the scallops and prawns and bacon mac and cheese! All absolutely to die for!! the portions were great for the price even had left over mac which was even delicious the next day (and I'm not much of a leftovers type) Hands down what Janesville needs and can't wait to come back during the summer to enjoy the patio! Hope Alicia is still there because she most definitely made our visit top notch! Didn't miss a thing drinks full and convo flowed all while she served other's and made drinks for the other employees...If I could give 10 stars they'd deserve it that night!! Thank you Alicia and bravo to the chef!!

We had a delightful time sitting at the bar and enjoying their happy hour menu and house burger. The food was delicious, Megan was tending bar and was super personable, and the entire establishment was simply relaxing/classy. We loved the deep fried olives! Wow! Fantastic.
